A matter of honor
seven warriors - one team - fight for honorThe Idea
Hector Games was created as a heartfelt tribute to Bud Spencer — a beloved icon of Italian and European cinema and popular culture. A symbol of gentle strength, moral integrity, and unmistakable humor.
The initiative was launched by the official fan club The Bulldozer APS of Ferrara, with the goal of offering something truly unique to the vast community of Bud Spencer fans: a real, joyful, and meaningful experience.
The game draws inspiration from the legendary figure of Hector — a loyal knight, protector of the weak, who faces every challenge with courage and a smile, triumphing through teamwork. He embodies the very values that Bud Spencer always stood for: generosity, irony, courage, and friendship.
Hector Games is for everyone — an open invitation to get involved, to embrace authentic values, and to be part of a vibrant, welcoming, and passionate community. Just as Bud would have wanted.
The Goal
The objective of Hector Games is straightforward yet exhilarating: each team must deliver Hector’s Wine Barrel into the opposing team’s End Zone. A point is scored when at least half of the barrel remains securely inside the zone.
The barrel itself — slightly larger than a soccer ball and weighing under 500 grams — is made of sealed foam, similar to that used in live-action role-playing (LARP) gear. Agile and versatile, it can be carried, passed, or thrown, depending on the team’s tactics and positioning.
Each match is played in two high-intensity halves of five minutes. The team with the most points at the end of regulation wins. After every point, the barrel returns to the center of the field, and play resumes without delay. At halftime, teams switch sides of the arena to ensure fairness and balance.
Here is a refined and more vivid version of the "Teams and Players" section, crafted to enhance readability, tone, and impact:
Teams and Players
Each team is made up of seven warriors, equipped with LARP-certified gear — including swords, pikes, war hammers, shields, and morning stars. These weapons are safe for full-contact play, yet bring an unmistakable flair of epic combat to the field.
Every player has a distinct role with specialized skills, essential for outwitting, blocking, or neutralizing opponents — and for clearing a path toward the ultimate goal: delivering Hector’s Wine Barrel into the enemy’s Final Zone to earn a victory point.
Adding a dramatic twist to the action is the presence of the Bomber — a unique player stationed in a tower at the center line of the field. From this elevated position, the Bomber can launch strategic interventions, shifting the momentum of the match at pivotal moments.
Hector’s Arena
The battlefield of Hector Games is a grand rectangular arena, measuring 20 by 40 meters, clearly divided in half by a prominent center line. Flanking this line are two 2.5-meter-high towers, each equipped with a 1-square-meter platform — the command post of the Bomber, who stands ready to shift the course of the match at any moment.
At either end of the arena lie the End Zones — the target areas where Hector’s Cask of Wine must be delivered to score a point and claim the upper hand.
Adding a tactical layer to the game are four Gullets located along the arena’s perimeter — designated penalty zones for players who break the rules. These brief exclusions can temporarily tip the balance of power, turning every moment into a potential game-changer.
Let the Games Begin!
